and research on U.S. military and overseas citizen voting.

This Interactive Data Center is intended to provide a window into the military and overseas voting environment for elections
researchers, media, scholars and other interested communities. It provides recent data, maps and other information in three key areas
of FVAP's mission:

  • Active Duty Military voters and their families stationed away from home in the United States or around the world;
  • Overseas Citizens living, studying and working abroad; and
  • States, whose election offices are responsible for administering the UOCAVA voting process in cooperation with local governments.

In each section, the Interactive Data Center provides visualizations of data drawn from FVAP surveys and other sources – as well as links to official FVAP reports and research in each of the three topic areas.

FVAP is the office of the U.S. Department of Defense charged with implementing the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA), which aims to inform and protect the right to vote of Americans around the world.
In the conduct of its mission, FVAP collects important data on the UOCAVA voting process, which it uses to ensure that military and overseas voters can request, receive and return ballots in federal elections.
