North Carolina June 7 Primary Information
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - North Carolina will be holding a congressional primary on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. This election date represents a change in the election calendar due to court challenges with the existing redistricting plan. The June 7th primary ballot will only contain North Carolina State Supreme Court candidates and U.S. House of Representatives candidates based on the new district lines approved by the North Carolina federal courts.
Absentee ballots for military and overseas voters will be mailed no later than April 25, 2016 in preparation for the June 7th election. The registration deadline and ballot request deadline for this congressional primary will be Monday, June 6th. Please visit https://www.fvap.gov/north-carolina for the official registration and ballot request deadlines, as well as information on completing an Federal Post Card Application (FPCA - your registration and ballot request form) or the Federal Write In Absentee Ballot (FWAB - your backup ballot).
